The MOntreal Internationalized Software Testing conference possibly has the worst conference abbreviation ever: MOIST
I’ve never been against the word myself, but others really think it’s gross.

If they were smart, they would call it the Montreal International Software Testing (MIST) conference. That took me about 2 seconds to come up with because it is the obvious way to create an acronym, and it has the secondary effect of being a valid word and the tertiary effect of being a pleasant word.
In other words, someone went out of their way to name this conference MOIST. From this, I conclude that Canadians hate testing.
