Fear of the day: Tapeworms!

Just when I think jwz is getting a bit low on freaky links, today he lets us learn more about tapeworms! This only important when you consider the possibility that people really are at risk for this… which you might not think is possible in the modern US-of-A. Well, ABC shows us how this is real with Wife Swap where we find this weeks episode about people that eat raw food versus those people that just eat out for every dinner to avoid germs.

Haigwood Family

The family lives by a raw food philosophy that includes raw beef and chicken, spoiled cheese and un-pasteurized milk. They brush their teeth with a mixture of home made honey-butter and clay and only shower on occasion, as “bacteria is their friend.”

I love hearing about this, it makes me think that people might learn what we in first world countries don’t have to worry about versus the real world… you know, that part of the world that lets individuals focus on health care standards.
